‘AN EXPLORATION OF LIGHT, ATMOSPHERE AND EMOTION’

I am a self taught artist, based in Malvern Worcestershire, and working mainly in oils.

I was born and raised in Margate /Thanet on the Kent coast, a favourite location for JMW Turner who once remarked to John Ruskin. “ The skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all Europe”

Those same skies have obviously been deeply implanted into my psyche!

I have an instinctive, gestural approach to painting, using texture as a base to create living, breathing ‘mindscapes’.

My inspiration comes from nature and the elements, blending these elements to produce an emotional synergy, evoking a sense of contemplation, discovery and ultimately hope.

Above all, light is the key to all my paintings
